Creating an Edible Garden

IRWD Main Offices
15600 Sand Canyon Ave.
Irvine, CA

The UC ANR South Coast Research and Extension Center and the Irvine Ranch Water District present this program.

Seed it. Weed it. Eat it. Learn how to start and maintain an edible garden landscape in your yard — whether in an expanse of space or in the nooks and crannies — so that you can reap fresh fruits and vegetables to put on your table.

The best locally grown food comes from your own yard. You can plant what you like, connect with nature and have a bounty that is healthy, seasonal and flavorful. Learn about edible plant selections including annuals, herbs, berries and fruit trees. Find out how to transform your garden gradually with various garden themes or styles. This presentation covers soil, water, integrated pest management, care and feeding and harvesting.
